Description
Summary:
Head/Combo/Cabinet: Heads
Amp Electronics: Tube Amp
Wattage Range: 40-99 Watts
Power Tubes: EL34 / 6CA7 / KT77
Tube Details: 12AX7 (x4), EL34 (x2)
Amplifier Condition: Amplifier is in good condition with relatively light wear. Most of the logo is missing. There is some wear to the edges of the cabinet and to the handle caps, as well as the plastic corner covers. The faceplate is slightly worn with green marker denoting regularly used settings.
Amp Mods/Repairs: An exterior tube buffered effects loop has been wired into the amp and mounted in the headshell with velcro. There have been a few capacitors and resistors replaced on the circuit board, input jacks, and pots. New filter caps have been installed. A few small tweaks have been done to the inputs and the voltage drop resistors to clean up the preamp that are easily reversed. The back panel is not original to the cabinet. The master volume and presence pots have been replaced. There is some shielded conductor added to make a few connections to make the amp quieter. EL34’s have been installed in place of 6550’s. The cabinet feet have been removed.
Serial Number: 04777K
Amp Details: Amplifier is a USA import unit with ground switch, and retains its original transformers, tube sockets, jacks, switches, knobs, and some factory parts on the circuit board. The mods done to the amp to make it cleaner mainly involve controlling how much input signal is allowed to go to the first tube, and raising preamp voltages by removing one voltage drop resistor to decrease tube clipping. With the preamp at full, this amp has about as much breakup as a JTM45, but has the bright, tight sound of the cascaded front end that this amp is known for. Inspection tag is signed May 5th, 1978.
